Another local attraction is Bannerman Island, located between Cold Spring and Beacon. Its a very cool family expedition by boat from Beacon. Essentially it's an old abandoned castle, built by a munitions dealer to store ammunition that has fallen into ruin.  http://www.bannermancastle.org

Constitution Marsh Audobon Center and Sanctuary

The trailhead is located at the bottom of Indian Brook Road, just past the swimming hole. There is a restricted number of parking spots, so it can never be overrun by crowds. Parks & Hiking

There are over 112 miles of hiking trails in Philipstown spread over three main parks, which provide buffers against encroaching development and help preserve the rural nature of our community.

To the North and South we are bordered by the Hudson Highlands State Park. Sprawling over 6,000 non-contiguous acres, the park features well know hikes such as Breakneck Ridge, Bull Hill, the riverside beach at Stony Point and even the Appalachian Trail.

To the East we are bordered by Fahnestock State Park, which is over 20 square miles. It has camping, hiking, swimming, fishing, seasonal hunting, cross-country skiing and boat rental facilities.

The West Point Foundry Preserve is located to the South of the Village of Cold Spring and contains the remains of the West Point Foundry. It features easy hiking trails, architectural ruins and great views of Constitution Marsh.

On the West side of the Hudson River, our views are preserved by Storm King State Park. At almost 2,000 acres, it is largely undeveloped except for trailheads and offers hiking and seasonal hunting.
